Dunno... Tongue
Anyway there's one thing who's bugging me now: do Blackjack and Falcon share the same variables for their position in the map? (possibly i'd like to know which one they are...) imagine you might suddenly go back and forth from a world map to the other one... well, it wouldn't be great if one of the two airship suddenly is located in the middle of the ocean, because the other one changed coordinates...

I think it is only refered to as "airship" in Bank EE, during landing and takeoff. The graphics are loaded seperate, but only after a check for which map your loading.
"Airship mode initialization" starting at EE/8422
Also contains setting DoomGaze position, meaning you'd have to activate Airship mode before he's placed on the map at all. (Kinda answering my own question from the other post).
Some more scrolling and reading points to there only being one set of variables for vehicle location, but I can't prove that.
So my guess is, some new code/bits... or some creative work arounds.

Quote:On another note, you mentioned going the direction of two roms, part one and part two... why not three?

Not 3 parts, but have part one, then based on a major choice, part2A or part2B?

Sure it makes a huge project bigger but come on, choices that actually change the whole game? Epic stuff there. Just a crazy thought.

After you posted this, it didn't pass too much time before i could finally justify the existence of part 2-b in my hack Kungfu!
a parallel scenario according to the outcome of "something" that will decide the future of the planet... it will still revolve around the curse, but from a different point of view... sounds interesting?

In any case that would take a bunch of time to be implemented, so it won't be included in version 1.0 of CotG for sure, since the update would be huge, let's call it a potential version 2.0

Yeah, but that is the beauty of it.

You can designate a place for said choice in the original story, then complete the original v1.0.

Afterwards, impliment the choice/side quest/event (or expand the pre existing place holder) and open up the path to the alternate part two, basically resulting in a modular/expandable hak/story that wouldn't require major rewriting of the base story.

Hell, if you came up with yet another potenial path/view after all that, again keep the base and write a new part 2 based off the new path.

After your initial implimentation of the two part concept, you could have as many "endings" with majorly different outcomes/world changing events/views as you can imagine. Has the potential to get complicated sure (as in the player having to know which version of part two to load, A, B, C...) but it also has the potential to be twice as epic, not to mention the replay value when you update with major world changing events, literally.

But yes, as you said, that would all need to fall into V2 or V3 after completion of a stable V1. Just make note of all those story direction choices you had to make, and save the "B" story.

The only true wisdom is knowing you know nothing.

I always knew since the beginning when/where that choice appear, at the beginning i thought the second option would lead to a game over, the worst ending indeed...
put when the part 2-b will become available, then it will lead to part 2-b.

both part 2-a and part 2-b rewrite the base story, but part 2-b would do that even more and in a completely different way than part 2-a.

About endings... i never mentioned that, but even just part 2-a have a bunch of different endings, to be precise... they are all similar among themselves and slightly different, according to minor conditions that are/aren't met, they would easily turn into more that 10 endings, but i prefer to classify them as grades of perfection of the ending... there's the best ending of course, and it has need even of major conditions to be triggered, then the other will be more or less close to the best one, the worst combination should lead to bad ending(not bas as worst).

Well... i guess that adding part 2-b will show different endings, but i guess they won't be more than extra 2-3 endings...

The extra plot is already in my mind and it sounds... so perfect!!
Too much soon to spoil anything Tongue

Don't worry, it's WIP this project, not stopped...

I take this chance to show you a nice feature of this hack...
Do you recognize him?

Obviously he will never respawn in the same forest after you meet him, but remember: he won't respawn whatever happens, (escape, right/wrong answer, time up, hit him) i warned you.

Search him through the forests of WoB and WoR! Kungfu!

Yeah, i did it on my own, still transform this:

into a 16 bit 64x64 sprite with paint was really hard, it took me an entire day...

its not a bad sprite but the pants are a bit dark and it seems to be lacking an outline i would add some of that pink to the belt 2. pose wise tho its pretty spot on

did u use all 15 colors here?

The bastard is too much tiny to make an outline for him, about the color of the pants i might put a lighter violet instead(there's actually a dark violet inside it, but now i see it's almost invisible among the black Finger )

pink to the belt? but it's orange!

Obviously i ran out of colors quite fast, probably i spent more than 2 hours just to find a way to finish the sprite with not more than 15 colors and to avoid of obtain a lame combination of colors in the end
