This is our available songs to copy to FF3us 1.0, 1.1 or FF6j. Each archive contains a spc file of the song, a binary file of the song data and a binary file of the song instruments. Some archives have other file, as an example emberling always provide all of the 3 above but can also include a version to use with the instrument patch, a MML file, readme or files to use with other utilities. The songs with a “ᵖ”, a majority of the ones made by tsushiy, require the following patch to work properly because they use partially or totally non-vanilla FF6 instruments. Some songs by emberling also use this patch, but a “nopatch” version of the song is always provided in these cases. Sadly some submissions by tsushiy requiring the instrument patch have instruments in the instruments bin file higher than max instrument, likely because his hack use more instruments than what he first submitted. This is not all songs requiring the instrument patch though but we have not documented which ones are concerned.

A recent discovery about two commands that were left out of all Gi Nattak songs (as well as Royaken's and LoneRedMage's) done via MML was brought to our attention. These commands FF6's music engine use to reset the reverb value between songs, they are actually needed or else the reverb from the previously played song will continue over to the next. We will attempt at some point to add these commands to all songs and re-upload them. It's also possible to manually add the commands, then to adjust the song's pointers and jumps. If you wish to do this, the two commands are F7 00 XX and F8 00 00. XX = value, $46 is a good default value to use.

Also, all Gi's (as well as Royaken's and LoneRedMage's) songs have a transpose up +1 command (D9 01) in every track, because he thought for all these years that it was supposed to be there in the channel header, having used the same template found online that had this transpose +1 command included, until just recently that it was brought to his attention. So, everything is transposed up the smallest value, creating a slightly higher pitch. We plan to also correct this in the future as well, but if you wish to do it yourself just find the D9 01 command in every track and change it to D9 00 (zero value) and you're back to the normal pitch.

Songs with author marked with * are originally arranged by the noted author for Gi Nattak's Return of the Dark Sorcerer, an enormous hack with a fully custom soundtrack that makes extensive use of custom instruments and has its own distinct instrumentation style. The marked songs have been modified by someone other than the original author (probably emberling) for compatibility with generic FF6 projects, including reinstrumentation (often aiming closer to the original song's style) and closing up a few potential pitfalls like the echo issue noted above.
