JCE3000GT! Great to see you back here!

1) No it's not exactly finished, though it is for an undetermined amount of time in terms of another large update. It's the most finished it's ever been lol. I eventually plan to have a version 2.0 which would most likely be the "finished" version and would feature a lot more event work for some ideas we have on the table, but I will need to have dialog further expanded first, that's all that's really holding me back now thanks to other things being expanded thanks to Madsiur's custom level editor build that expands just about everything else. Besides this large future update, I usually update/add any bug fix patches or other cool things such as the gradient removal code Madsiur has done for instance as they spring up. Thanks to him there's also the difficulty selection and music player, so cool things he does I'll put right into the hack and update it, I have a hard time with making it final, which sucks for cart repo places... but it's like a hobby I don't want to stop working on pretty much. I want to have new maps and spell graphics for instance some day, among other things. And James White (who did all the monster sprite work and portraits etc.) wants to replace most if not all of the remaining monsters with custom ones he does which would be awesome.

2) For sure! Please and thank you. Smile

3) Sure thing, good idea will do asap.

4) Yeah I'd like to, jumping on the discord channel is a great way to catch up and keep in touch. It's been a long time indeed, and it's still very much alive here. Some projects going on and whatnot. New site design as I'm sure you noticed. No Zeemis... he was ousted quite a while ago and Madsiur basically runs the site now along with B-Run (formally known as Edrin, creator of Children of Vector work-in-progress most awesome FF6 hack that will ever be who also formally retired and then came back), seibaby I believe, JamesWhite and myself. And Fire Storm/Scorpion from the shadows. Got an awesome wiki now: https://www.ff6hacking.com/wiki/doku.php

I'm not sure if you've been back to slickproductions to see but 13375K31C43R (leetsketcher) came on to the scene and threw out like 100 patches to further fix the game, which is awesome. And there's a really good mass-bugfix patch by C.V. Reynolds that stays updated. Not sure if you know about the FF6 randomizers, Beyond Chaos is freaking awesome. We were doing some twitch speed runs a while back, well I wasn't cause my computer sucks lol. But Jackimus did a lot of races with his roomate, Jackimus is an awesome dude and actually did a bunch of really good quality song hacks for RotDS and other. Brave New World is an incredible hack you should check out sometime if you're unaware, it's considered one of the best and is mighty popular. I could go on and on about stuff but I think I'll stop here lol.

Thanks for the update and such!  I cannot do the chat room at work but I suppose if I could do it on my iPhone I'd be all in.

Also, I cannot remember what your site was that hosted the patch since I lost my bookmarks, got it handy?  I was going to use some of the screenshots and videos or whatnot on the page I create for your hack on my website.  I'm going to do one for another rom hacker who did a Lufia hard mod.  :Smile

Sounds like the FF6 hacking scene was super busy in my absence!  With me coming back out of retirement I'll need to get to know these new (to me) people--hopefully my reputation precedes me.  ;Wink  I'm going to need some help with that hack I was working on last with you and a few others.  I sent you an email and PM (on my forum) about it.

Cool, thanks!  I'll write a more detailed reply in a private message.  Feel free to check out my project thread if you want, most of that you probably can remember.  I'll see about the remaining songs I need and see if you can show me your method of importation and etc.

Also, do you mind if I use a couple of your tracks (as easter eggs)?

Awesome!  You're the best.   Victory

*edit*
Good to see a few of my Romancing SaGa 3 ones in there. Laugh Can I use these below? Some may or may not be used, depends on what all I'm able to do easter egg-wise.

036 Romancing SaGa - The Conflict (I tried for almost a decade to get this one to import correctly without success...)
042 Mystic Quest - Foresta
086 Secret of Mana - Rose and Ghost
121 Final Fantsay IV - Welcome to our Town
154 Final Fantasy IV - Golbez
198 Lufia II - Boss Theme
207 Zelda 3 - Dark World
240 Treasure Conflix - Title (I tried for almost a decade to get this one to import correctly without success...)

Yeah for sure, looks good to me! Only issue I see with a couple is I've used imported RS3 instuments, such as the trumpets and slap bass for The Conflict for instance, but that's no biggie - you can either easily import the same instruments or make them sounds good using strictly FF6 ones... probably we should just import the instruments over I think Madsiur did a patch that imports all of them from RS3 as well as FFV and FFIV, since you should have the free space where they go. Or you could hand select import them individually like I did, but this is a bit more tedious obviously but saves a lot of space of unused/unwanted ones.

I was lucky to grab The Conflict from sagauploader (Japanese SF3 hacking uploader forum site) once before it became dead, so that one wasn't even my doing outside of altering some octaves & volume levels. The Lufia 2 boss theme never made it into the final soundtrack actually, or rather it got replaced, and I think it has an incorrect loop point which I was going to fix but never did as I lost the MML file for it on my Dell when it bit the dust ;_; but I'll look around to double check or if all else fails I suppose I can redo it, unless you don't mind how it loops - It just loops from the very start instead of jumping back to right after the intro part like the original song does.

The others all look fine, I know I used CT hard snare for Treasure Conflix - Title, again nbd. I remember you got that one in for me actually a long time ago but it was lacking the hard snare I believe. I was able to figure it out once I could read the song data much better and get it sounding 100%. It is an awesome song indeed, I really dig it.

EDIT: Oh be sure to check out our song data thread for more songs: https://www.ff6hacking.com/forums/showth...p?tid=2558

Sweet!  Thanks for that info.  We'll take this offline out of this thread.  Smile

I've been looking for stuff to do recently, since I've been hesitant to release my playable ff2 hack. Any chance I could possibly make some monster graphics for the hack? or any tile graphic changes? I usually do better with smaller size interfaces and a criteria for design...

For this hack? (Return of the Dark Sorcerer?) It's probably a bit too late for this, although I am thankful for the offer.

Are you familiar with this hack much?

We just have the monster sprites at a point now where it'd be wise not to mess with anything, as every palette is set and space is very low. So as it is things are on a standstill in terms of graphic stuff, and even then James White is the man behind this and would most likely continue to be down the road, keeping it all one style (his) for consistency sake. Though I am interested in seeing some of your work! I wasn't aware you were into spriting like that, perhaps sometime I'd take you up on that offer, but again this is James territory so to speak and I definitely don't wanna step on his toes and we're done for the time being.
