I haven't found any SD3, and Lufia 2 uses a totally different SPC core. It seems are best bet in injecting songs, would be with other Squaresoft games.

To Quote JCE3000GT " FF6 is quite annoying to have to rewrite later Squaresoft game SPC codes. CT is rather plug and play really, as is RS3 to a small extent. You'd be surprised how relitively easy it is for Chrono Trigger. FF6 not so much, because it was the "first generation" "second edition" of the SPC code/core that Square used in their mainstream games from 1994-1996. Romancing SaGa 2 was the first to use this base SPC code/core before it was revised for FF6...then revised for each of the other games. RS2 is the ONLY OTHER game I've found that is 98% compatible with FF6. "

Sounds to me like injecting music straight into FF6 without composing the song from scratch might only be possible with RS2...

.....ouch

well it seems like its possible to do, however the music must be composed from scratch then

Please forgive me if I labeled an instrument name wrong (IE calling an Oboe a Flute). I did this in a hurry for my SPC Editor app. Also, I've included some other games as well.

Chrono Trigger BRR Offsets with instrument names (mostly).

Ending 3 - FCEAA - FD768
Twin Star 2 (I think) - FD769 - FDCAB
??? - FDCAC - FE9A9
Engines Reving sounds at start of the 'race' - FE9AA - FEAC9
Drumroll - FEC4A - FED3F
Unused? (possible game over track?) - FED40 - FEE02
Title Screen - FEE29 - FF2B0
Victory 1 again? - FF2B1 - FF429
Drumroll again? - FF42A - FFEAB

I can't locate Music Factory, I don't think it's between FDCAC - FE9A9 ...

Gi, that's awesome that you've got some additional tracks documented. I can update my SPC Editor with the data. Also, if you get a chance and do the instruments let me know.

Here's what I had on my document from 4 years ago that I never finished...

Quote:$CC/04ED BF 59 42 CC LDA $CC4259,x[$CC:4259] A:0000 X:0000 Y:0020 P:envMxdIZc

NP, it was my pleasure. I'm glad to help with any documentation of this crazy game lol.
I was like half way through, when I suddenly remembered that your SPC editor (which is easily one of my favorite editors btw) already HAS a Dynami Tracer section in it! >_< So I opened it up, and saw that there were still some missing ones, so I humbly continued on. I injected a track or two, or three lol, from each song until I could decipher what song it is, and with this game I'm sure you know, that's not easy!

Most of these are by far some of the strangest, hardest to identify songs that I've ever heard in any game, let alone composed by Umatsu! It's those funky vocal BRR's, I'm sure. I'd still really like to locate Music Factory, I'd -like- to think it is between FDCAC - FE9A9, but I would have identified it there as it's actually one of the easier ones to identify. Still, logical thinking would put that song in there somewhere, maybe I somehow missed it.

But yes, please feel free to update your editor's Dynami section with this info, I did have that in mind once I saw it was under construction still. Wink

I'd also really love to get the instruments documented as well, as of now it's all just guessing by ear what instruments to use to match up the song, which is kind of fun, but somewhat tedious when you just want to get the song to sound similar and call it finished.

I updated the RS3 data a bit, and am now starting Live a Live.

---

Notes for FF6 injection: LAL uses F7 for the jump command, change to F6!
Like injecting SPC's from other games into FF6, it seems the commands right after the tempo and reverb need to be removed/turned into reverb duplicates, or the first channel gets messed up. - thanks to JCE3000GT for that info.
