hello!

The other day, a patch that I was making was completed.
That matter, thanks to everyone in this site is working with us to help.
Thank you very much!

Well, in the patch of I, I've added more than 100 tracks songs.
Well, I'd like to share with you those songs.

But there is one problem.
It is that I'm adding a musical instrument data of other games in my patch.
(* Final Fantasy 4, Final Fantasy 5, and Romancing SaGa 3)
(* ID of the data of the instrument that you have added is 40 ~.)

Do you think that it should be?

That is not a problem. You could make a patch that adds the new instruments in the game. Then we would put this patch in this thread and we would specify that the song you submit require the person to prior use the instrument patch.

That been said, with your permission I could look at your hack and make that patch if you send me your hack via pm. I am familiar with BRR samples, pointers and ADSR data. I can easily track them in a hack. Then what would be left for you would be to submit songs.

Note that the patch instrument would require for the samples to be in the F bank (300000 to 3FFFFF) because I believe ROM expanded beyond 32mbits does not work with SNES9X, at least not with Geiger'S debugger. Thanks a lot! Wink

You can post here the binary data then I'll make a patch that put them in the F bank. There is pointers code in bank C5 to change so leaving the users with too much modification to do is not the best thing. But I'll put the patch and your binary data together after in the 1st post.

First and foremost, great job learning this stuff! Always nice to see another MML/song hack maker spring up. Smile These are all worthy enough for submission, but I do have just a few notes for feedbacks sake, if you don't mind, while listening to them:

1) BoF Cave Theme - The low part/bass strings are rather soft, could be louder... or maybe even swap that out for the actual bass instrument instead, would make the low part sound more foreboding. I just think the low part should stand out more. Also the flute section might benefit from some vibrato.

2) Wicked Child - Wondering where the kick and snare part went, is this the NES version? The Tom sounds cool though, a bit repetive at times but an interesting substitution for kick and snare I suppose. Gives it some 'umph'.

3) Praying Hands - Is that a piano used for the low bassy part at the start? It could be louder that low part is not really coming in as loud as I think it is meant to stand out. FF6 Piano sucks at lower octaves. Other than that the rest sounds pretty awesome!

4) DQ2 Overworld - No complaints on this one, except I think the flute section might benefit from some vibrato, for those longer notes, and a bit of a fast volume fade at the end of them - little details go a long way. Wink

5) Lavender Town - Could benefit a lot from a higher reverb value, to make it echo like the original. Also kinda missing that simple percussion snare drum used in the original to keep the rythem of the song going better. Honestly this is a drastically watered down version compared to the original song, which isn't good considering the original had less tracks to utilize.

6) Kalos Plant - Despite it again being a much watered down version from the original, I like it. The Tom works in place of that sick-ass beat from the original enough to still make the song work as a sort of alternate version, and the melody is there nicely.

I suppose I'll wait for your response before uploading them to the database, in case you'd like to touch any up, but if not I understand and these do meet the requirements in terms of quality, looping correctly and what-not.

First of all, thanks a lot for your feedback; Here is my comment about the songs.

BoF Cave Theme: In the beginning one of the strings was actually a Spanish guitar that made the song similar to the ROTDS version. I changed it erronuesly in a string when i put it into my hack, but at the end i decided to take it. If you want, i can change to a Spanish guitar again.

Wicked Child: Nothing to say

Praying hands: Yes, the track in the beginning is a piano track. I tried to change to change it into a oboe track right now and it actually sounds better.

Overworld 1: Nothing to say.

Lavender Town: Honestly, in the midi that i used there were actually two drum tracks; i removed them because in this times i had problem with the looping of drum tracks(I didn't submit my version of RSMS Prelude of Battle for this reason).Maybe i will redo this one, but with Drums(hoping that those problem won't show up).

Kalos Power Plant: I had lot of difficulties in choosing two of the tracks(The ones with the ocarina and the pipe organ); infact i did two version of the song and at the end i produced a third one that is the one i submittted.

In conclusion i'm satisfacted of all the song with the exception of Praying Hands and Lavender Town: the first one will be submit again, but with the piano changed to oboe; the latter will be redo, but this time with drums.
