I would like to know how to change the title screen like how Metroid quest did their Eternal Crystals hack.

I think Zeemis posted a tutorial on how to do this on youtube. I also know there's a patch for installing the original Japanese title screen.

A splash screen is different than the title screen. The first comes before the title screen. You can find the modified title screen patch here.
