make sure his hair is actually green when it comes 2 the sprite sheet

Agreed. Usually I did his based on the palette in the game.

ooooo i forgot it because i had instead of gogo bartzTongue that makes gau get green hairs!

Do you make your portraits from scratch or do you have a base image to work from?

I use a picture as a base to work with. (like certin charaters from other video games,example: Ken=customize verison of cecil.)
