So yes there is an issue with the names showing up with ZSNES, with the player in the Config menu.

I wonder if there is anything left over from the coding of the stuff from the Japanese version that was removed during localization. It's just a guess though.

Config1 and Config2 have their own menu code but functions for the name display or music player itself are in a separate file, common to all three music players. Any code that repeats was put in common files, which include song names too. Now doing this doesn't exclude any weird behavior on zsnes but I think it exclude this code to be faulty if the main implementation work on zsnes. I'd have to look at config1 and config2 menu work, which is 100% coded by me. For the record, the Japanese music player was accessed by the swtech menu I think which is absent from FF3us.

Hi, i use the uncensored patch 1.92, and the music player is indeed without song names in ZSNES (i use Fusoya build released in 2015). To answer the famous question as "why people still use ZSNES?", based on my personal use, it's because SNES9X lack couple of options. Couldn't find any of these: http://www.snes9x.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=23995 also, i doesn't have problem with  ZSNES, it is said to have sound issue and a bad accuracy, but it works fine so far on my laptop (maybe because it's an old one).

ps: I was finally able to register the forum, i was unable yesterday Surprised

I just tried with the regular 1.51 build and problem is the same. Without turning the thread into an emulator debate, one could always argue he prefer ZSNES over snes9X but I could easily find 5 vanilla games that have compatibility issues and 50 SMW hacks that works only on ZSNES because they use exploits in its inaccurate emulation. This doesn't help hack compatibility in general and it's a reason ZSNES should never be used as a base to test hacks or even report bugs. I do respect however people preferring playing with it. ZSNES will work fine in most case and inaccurate sound emulation does not mean awful sound but there is a difference.

For the casual player that I am, I find higan or snes9X fully filling my need when it comes to emulators, hence no need for me to ever use zsnes. To be honest, I use more an emulator to debug than playing so I'm not the average user.

That been said, I uploaded version 1.3.2 that fix the apostrophe problem when assembling the code (all 14 occurences). This should be the final version unless another bug arise as I am not planning to fix the zsnes specific bug on config1 and config2.

I respect your reasons for not wanting to mess with the ZSNES specific issue. Going by that Only issue I am having now is with the custom build for TWUE. Turns out that the Rewards Display hack (that tells you the rewards in the Colosseum) uses the same free space as the Music Player. I can send you a file if you're willing to look at it.

Send the ROM via pm and I'll look at this. I can make the third patch (main) to palliate for the config1 and config2 bug on zsnes.

I've included 7 optional fixes in the music player archives related to music and SFX volume on certain maps or silence issues that can arise if music player is used. These fix are in the "optional fixes" folder. They fix small things that music player cannot overcome alone, but not applying them does not make the player less functional. These things should not be seen as music player bugfixes but more overcoming of certain limitations.

Please read the separate readme in the "optional fixes" folder for all details about those 7 cases or scenarios.

Thanks to Gi Nattak for his help on music event code.
