RE: FFIV:TAY on PC

I have been trying to figure it out also, and am getting the same error. I really want to play this, so I'm going to keep at it. I loaded the WAD, and set the path and everything...

(After searching around for awhile)
Taken from the Dolphin Forum:

Dolphin needs you have to have the libraries listed below installed.

For Windows

-MS Visual C++ Runtime 2008 SP1: This fixes the "side by side" / "application config" & model errors
Microsoft VC++ 2008 SP1 Redist x86 - For 32bit Windows, found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...laylang=en

Microsoft VC++ 2008 SP1 Redist x64 - For 64bit Windows, found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...layLang=en

For Linux
-install libbluetooth: fixes the "PANIC failed to load plugin Plugins/libPlugin_wiimote.so" error for linux users

======= Video Card Requirements =======
You must have a video card that support OpenGL 2.x fully or Direct3D 9.0c.

Note: The Direct3D9 video plugin is old/outdated and it looks like it doesn't work anymore. We recommend using the Dolphin OpenGL Video plugin for better video emulation.

-The DirectX November 2008 Runtime: This fixes the plugin loading errors
Microsoft DirectX Updater, found here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...layLang=en

Once I downloaded and installed said files for my Win32bit, and updated my DirectX via the link, the emulator fired up the game without those error messages! But now, my screen is all yellow with a black border, so I got to figure that out...but at least I can hear the music and the controls work, so that's a start in the right direction. I do love problem solving.

We are born, live, die and then do the same thing over again.

For me, I was able to download the emulator successfully but had some trouble with the FPS, the emulator was too slow when playing the game. I use the keyboard as my control, as joypad never worked for me as well.

I found this website that solved all the FPS problems I had, and the game runs smoothly.
