Couldn't get the hack working on ZSNESW 1.53

Greetings, all!

I couldn't get this hack working on ZSNESW 1.53.  I tried various ROM base files, but I only got either a black screen or a scrambled logo with no ability to play.  These were labeled as FFIII US 1.0 and I tried header and no header versions, but to no avail.

How to get this working?

Considering its in the RotDS forum, I think probably that one.

Give it a try in snes9x or higan. Zsnes is popular, but actually kind of a shitty emulator in terms of what it's doing under the hood.

I've gotten Rotds to work on zsnes on multiple versions, I've met that screen before. Not all roms found online are equal. try patching the ips file to a different v1.0 rom?

also its best to go for unheadered version of rom too.

also try the latest version of zsnes

Just don't use zsnes, there are far better options for playing snes hacks.

For the good ROM, google "SNES no-intro romset".

zsnes has good widescreen options, i myself use it. u should get the latest one if u wanna use it tho

The ROM is clearly the problem here, check your ROMs against one or more of these values, or download the no-intro set and you'll be good for life:

RotDS will play well on any emulator, zsnes, snes9x, bsnes or Higan, so which one you choose is irrelevant if accuracy and a non-shitty UI is not important to you. I understand people have their reasons to use zsnes, the main one being "being used to it", but that also mean those people will maybe be locked on that emulator forever and the last version (1.51) is almost 12 years old while other emulators are still being actively worked on since this time.
