World of Final Fantasy

Eclipsed by the FFVII remake announcement made at E3, World of Final Fantasy will be a game inspired by older Final Fantasy, especially on the combat system level, a "Super Famicom era's ATB". The graphics are similar to the Theatrhythm games.

Your party in World of Final Fantasy will feature two human characters, the sibling protagonists, along with up to four monsters. They won't always have to be stacked, but forming towers by stacking characters on top of each other also combines their powers (I feel like there's a Captain Planet reference in there somewhere...), giving them more HP and access to more powerful abilities. "The protagonist Ren and Ran, can stack two monsters, and they’ll add HP according to the amount the stack, and if they all know Fire then they'll be able to use Firaga."

The trailer from E3 showed the Warrior of Light and Cloud in-game, but Chiba stressed that World of Final Fantasy is an all-new world, not a parallel one to existing Final Fantasy games, a la Dissidia. Said world is "Grimoire," which is inhabited by chibi-fied Final Fantasy characters. In terms of how linear the game will be, Chiba says that the goal is to replicate something similar to the pre-Final Fantasy X era of the series. When it comes to the amount of collectible monsters in the game, Chiba says that there will be "as many as possible," jokingly saying that he hopes for at least as many as the first Dragon Quest Monsters.

I heard about it... there are good chances that this one might be much more surprising than FF7 remake.

Even knowing about the FF7 remake, I'm thrilled about this one, too. I like everything I've seen of it so far, and I'll get it... provided I can get myself a PS4...

I feel like this would be better suited on the 3DS rather than a console like the PS4 and lets be real no one even has a Vita so I doubt it will sell well on that. It does seem pretty cool though and I'm excited to see more gameplay

I believe that 3DS is already full of game, since his "rival" (PSvita) literally did NOTHING to compete seriously with 3DS, the greatest suicide of video game console in history.
It's pointless saying that, since PSvita sucks: if you stop making game because the console doesn't sell well due to the lack of titles, that will led to an endless spiral, until PSvita's death; Surely it's not like things will change if you let PSvita to its destiny, the only way to change things is giving to PSvita REAL exclusive on new titles.

On a side note that cross gaming thing with PS4 (don't remember it that was possible even with PS3) is the wrongest idea Sony ever had in his existance: who in the hell would ever buy a console which has only portings and that when it gets some new title, then they make the PS3/4 version of that title too?

Even thinking about it again... yes, the wrongest, at least in video game consoles: they literally morphed psvita into a support for latest TV consoles, a portable extension to them, rather than a new portable console.

In any case I don't think it makes sense placing this and many other titles inside PS4, that's just a bad an uneffective way to try hiding the fact PS4 really lacks of new good titles until now...
