I use the computer's calculator (the blue one that comes under accessories) to find the hex equivalent of certain bytes. Just press view and switch it to programmer mode. This allows you to put the number in decimal and be automatically changed to hex. Hex editing a rom using windhex, the event dump and skype all open at the same time is kind of troublesome, I find it much nicer to have less websites open in the browser.
