Need expert assistance

Hello, I haven't been active in modding FF6 for years. However, when I was, I utilized a lot of utilities from this site as well as the sprite galleries/database etc. So first I would like to thank all the contributors. THANK YOU

Anyway, I'm back in the game but I've hit dead end. I'm running a FF3 version 1.0 rom with the sfc extension. It seems the FF3SE isn't accepting the rom(1.0,sfc). Ultimately, I would like to edit the character portraits. What happened to the library of sprite sheets? There used to be way more..

The reason I use the 1.0 is for specific patches and editing. I don't know too much about hex editing so keep this in mind if your solution involves hex. I'm running windows 7.
