While Tzen house is "almost" mandatory(unless you wanna go with Celes alone ) at least you can do Owzer's mansion whenever you want: just do something else meanwhile, the world is big.

Thunder Shields would literally wall nearly everything, and generally, Chadarnook always counters with Bolt 2/3. Reflecting it would cut the damage from it in half, so it *shouldn't* heal for more damage than you're doing. Also, I'm surprised that Chadarnook's swapping is variable.
As far as your new seed, your 3 characters are probably worse than your current seed. I had a character with, I believe, Entwine and Capture. He sucked. Also, Meteor becomes not so great surprisingly quickly. By the World of Ruin, it will probably be rather average unless you get some good magic boosting.

I think you and I have different appreciations for Meteor. Just like Ribbons.
An attack that can't be blocked, can't be reduced by magic defense, can't be evaded, can't be dodged, can't be reflected, is damn helpful for a lot of fights.
Right now, it kills everything in one hit with around 560 damage at level 12.
So, if it doesn't do about 2500 damage by Level 30 in the World of Ruin, I'm going to be a bit sad.
Here's the stats for my chars I mentioned.
01. CASTER

Bannon looked like Celes by the way.
THe seed so far has done really well
I should also mention the game is throwing Magus hats at me like it's going out of style.
And Chardanook's swapping is completely random. So, it's really a pain to fight him sometimes. Since he'll trigger the change and get you to nail the painting with fire damage when he's weak.
I was doing more damage than he was healing, but it was taking a long time, and he kept cheesing me.
Also, how does Stamina affect you anyway? I figure it's a HP growth modifier and defense modifier. I mean, A character with 200 defense and 40 stamina is going to take a bit less damage in my experience than someone with 200 defense and 25 stamina.
Once I get Caster's Stamina up to 30 or so, I'll probably get her MagPwr up to mid 50s without any gear.
Oh, Peace Rings work on everyone so far, so that's a relief.
THey're just a bit expensive at the moment.

There's no way stamina can affect damage, unless that flag that involves stamina doesn't just affect hit rate

Okay, so I was wrong.
I just didn't know what Stamina does.
Hit rate? Er, I wonder why that is for STamina, and not HP gain.

It should be used to certain attacks that deal statuses, sometimes stamina is involved to decide if you dodge it.
The other use of stamina is having a better HP regeneration(still even poison/seizure/phantasm damage will increase)

Decent Magic Power for your Meteor user, but while it's incredibly effective early game, I feel it falls off damage wise towards the end(mostly talking about the final battle here). It will always be reliable, but without the super high level the enemies have, it just won't do as much as you'd like. To put it in perspective, Meteor has a power of 36. Fire 2 has a power of 60, and Bahamut has a power of 92. So it has less than half the power of Bahamut.
Stamina is garbage, Tenkarider hit the nail on the head with what it does. I personally never boost Stamina unless the character equipping the Esper has no other Esper to equip. It's just not useful enough.

Okay, I did not know that. Thank you for pointing out how Stamina works everyone.
Now I know not to worry about it either.
And good point about meteor's power not being that high.
Still, it's helpful for now at least.
Update: Phantom Train was a little challenging this time, but not bad.
Kefka in the Narshe battle was a little dangerous. I forgot how hard his solo spells hit sometimes.
Going up to Zozo now, Apparently, a nice Ribbon awaits me there. And I don't care, but I love Ribbons. They're just my favorite things in the Final Fantasy games.
Narshe Treasure room is set up to spawn better stuff in the Final Dungeon, so I'm going to leave that alone. And by better stuff I mean 2 Minerva gowns.
I plan on saving up for the Peace Rings before I get into later areas.
Flameeater is going to probably be easy this run, since he has only 8 MPower, and has his basic 5 immunities, including ice and fire.
Also, he has a special attack which inflicts Beserk. That will make the fight a bit easier.

We've been talking a fair amount about balance recently, but I think we can all agree on something: This is nonsense: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6jOIN0PK_c

Oh, good gravy. That is bad.
So, interesting to note, the Narshe shop list in this run is not correct at all.
Which is really weird.
It's saying I can buy green cherries in the shop, but it doesn't sell those.
It also says I can buy Gaia Gears, but I can't buy those in the shop either.
Can't even buy Dice.
So, any idea why the Narshe shop list is bugged out, but nothing else is?
I need some Green Cherries, because I can't access this enemy that has White cape as a steal, and Imp is really common in Zozo.

IMMUNE: death, seizure
AUTO: haste, shell
SPECIAL "Zen Riot": attack x3

RAGE: Shimsham, Zen Riot
CONTROL: Battle, Bolt 2, Shimsham, Zen Riot
SKETCH: Shimsham, Bolt 2
STEAL: White Cape
DROPS:
LOCATION: World of Balance C-1 NW, World of Balance C-8 NE
At least, I don't think I can get to those locations without the airship, and it probably is only a rare steal, so the fights are going to be tedious.
Yay, Imp spam!
Also, Bolt 2 with 5 Magic Power and level 16 monster probably hits around 300 damage I bet.
Whoops, I can't buy any green cherries...
Well, time to add that Game Genie code to edit shops. Well, if it doesn't charge 99,999 for them.
Because I'm not spending 300,000 on Remedies.
Well, that didn't go according to plan. no, game, I don't want 99 Graediuses/thiefknives/angel arms/whatever else.
