Square-Enix makes my life easier, I almost don't have to wait for the game to be released to be disappointed: http://kotaku.com/sounds-like-the-final-...1746564216

Edit: 9.95$ to unlock Ruby Weapon and NPCs taking your credit card directly in the game!
Unless they meant the game will be splitted in 3 like his CD... that's lame
If they do that because they really need space... if they will keep the world map and all chocobo travel system, then i can tollerate it.

PS. the one about Ruby is a bad joke, right?
wow... if thats true than this is a catastrophe on every level....

A follow up article that seems to aim in that direction. While space was not an issue with PS3 games, install size of game like GTA V is at the limit of a Blu-Ray capacity (~50gb), but this might not be for too long. However SE bieng SE, they'll find every ways possible to squeeze the maximum of money out of the remake because they know people will buy it.Finger

More stuff:

It is, as well a the NPC thing, but bad jokes are never far from reality.
Kitase: One thing that we wanted to be clear about during this weekend to accompany the new trailer was the scale of this project. We wanted to tell you this now and not in the future so that you’d share our vision for what we want to deliver. The biggest reason why we haven’t done a remake until now is because it’s a massive undertaking to reconstruct FINAL FANTASY VII from the ground up with the current technology. Producing a proper HD remake of FINAL FANTASY VII that maintains the same feeling of density of the original would result in a volume of content that couldn’t possibly fit into one installment.

We’ve seen everyone’s comments and reactions to the news that FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE will be a multi-part series and many have speculated correctly as to the reason why we have made this decision. If we were to try to fit everything from the original into one remake installment, we would have to cut various parts and create a condensed version of FINAL FANTASY VII. We knew none of you would have wanted that.

According to the same article the quote was taken of, each installment will have the content of a full game but will cost the price of a full game. One thing seems to be sure is that the FFVII universe will be expanded, as an example more backstory on main and major characters. It's still unknown how much installments there will be (2, 3 or more).
Sounds like they are going the very route FF4: The After Years goes. Multiple individual stories for each character or small group, then load them all together for one massive letdown... okay not that horrible but that what I read.

My plan? Wait 10-15 years, buy it all on one disk and play it then when they're giving all the extra content away for free.
Good idea...

They can do whatever they want and expand how much they want... but if they do that, then they won't have anymore any excuse to not put world map and chocobo world map's travelling system... as i said before: if i won't be able to start from chocobo's farm, riding my gold chocobo and proceed with him until KotR cave and finally dismount there all in one go, then i'll consider that as a huge failure in terms of gameplay and map design.

I'm forwarding your expectations Squre-Enix Ltd. so that you and your chocobo don't feel aggrieved in any way by the remake production team.
You already used that answer... Sweat
Send that one, and about... a million more with it, and they MIGHT take an office lunch meeting to THINK about, taking it under advisement.
