At the moment, I'm getting the hang of event hacking, so I guess that would be where my strengths lie. However, I doubt I will ever be able to sprite worth a crud. The only time my name and art should be included in the same sentence is if there is a "sucks at" in between Laugh. I'll do my best to learn more about everything else as I go along, though. Thanks for any help in advance and good luck to other newcomers.

Welcome! I started with events too and it's a good place to start in my opinion. I also suck as an artist don't worry but there are good spriters here that can do sprite for us lol. You seems to have the motivation to learn which is the biggest quality to succeed in hacking...the rest will come with time.

Feel free to ask any question if you're stuck on a event but you best friend should be the event dump because there are many examples of the structure of different events...Ctrl+F is your friend too! Good luck!

A late Welcome to you too! As long as you are willing to learn, you will get results...They might come slowly in the beginning but you'll get better with time and practice. Feel free to ask for help!

Well, I used to be a decent spriter, but I haven't done any actual sprites in years. I do have a Computer Programming degree, and I work professionally as a programmer, so I guess that would be my primary vocation. Been meaning to buff up my understanding of assembly.

Welcome! I study programmig in college and I love it. I'm at the moment doing a dynamic web page using a php application and some javascript code. I also know C++, C#, Java (god I love Java) and I started SQL server this year. I'm learning the SNES assembly on my free time.

As a programmer, you should not have much problem hacking a ROM or work with an hex editor...

New member here. FF6 has been my favorite Final Fantasy since long before we knew it was the sixth game in the series. I used to toy around with graphics hacking back in the NESticle days, but haven't really done much since. Not much else to say. I'll be lurking and maybe eventually posting. Smile

Welcome! I do remember the good old days when FFIV was "Final Fantasy II", which was my first SNES rpg. Don't be shy to post!

Welcome! You're right ROM hacking has huge potential but there is a lot to learn. This is all depending of what you're planning to do, but the possibilities are huge. I hope you'll be active on the forums!

"Sometimes ninjas do wrong to each other, and in dat way the force of tha earf' comes around da moon - and at that presence, da dirt, it overshadows the grass, so you're like, I can't cut dis grass, there's no sun comin' through. So in order to enable each other the two fruits have to look each other in da eye and understand we can only be right, as da ripe is wrong, you know what I mean?"

Thank you all for the warm welcome! At this time, I've got too much things to do with the engineering school (exams), but I'll see...
