FF6 Tenkarider's contest (accessible even to casuals)

Theorically the time runs out after the next 7 days, but i'm afraid i'll be very busy in that period...

Let's say that there's not a precise time limit, at the moment.

I'll try to being able to finish this and that in the next 2 days: so i'll set as last day the 1st of September, and eventually part of 2 September.
I'll also try to create task #3 meanwhile.

Task #3 : Where's Narshe?!?

Place: Lete river scenario(Mog black screen)

Area of the task: Lete river -> ??? -> Entrance of Narshe;

Enemies: ???;

Task goal: Protect Banon and reach the entrance of Narshe.

What's hacked: you, the enemies, dialogues, a bit of changes on sub map, a little work on music too + one custom music, event editing

------------------------- Returner's report #549 ------------------------------------------

06:30 A.M. - it's passed about 1 hour and half since the empire found our hideout and we evacuated the structure, we can confirm that Banon, Terra, Edgar and Sabin left the place on a raft, as planned.

However, some complication happened, while crossing the river:

- An unidentified purple creature attacked them suddenly and managed to separate Sabin from the group, sent 4 members of the elitè returner's scout group to follow him; confirmed his current position, now he travels, with a ninja known as Shadow, in the direction of Doma's castle;

- The group on the raft continued his journey. their arrival to Narshe was expected to be 15 minutes ago, but we found only the raft. Still no clues about their position.
Sent half of my men to explore the whole river.

As soon as we'll get some significant clue about them, i'll comunicate immediately further details.

As written above, something stange happened: Banon, Terra and Edgar suddenly disappeared, while crossing the river... What could it be happened?

You'll control them, starting from few seconds, before they disappeared.
You should recognize the current place, the characters no.
In any case, the goal is still the same: protect Banon and reach Narshe... i said reach Narshe, so the run ends as soon as "Narshe" is displayed in the top of the screen, so you don't have to meet Arvis.

In order to escape from "that place", you have to ask for help, but it won't be easy... There are 2 situations in which the task won't be valid, despite the game keeps going:

- You cannot escape from the main entrance of that place, that would result in a time paradox and the time-line would collapse ;

- The task fails if "Banon fell..." message is displayed, despite that, due to being inside an event while fighting the boss, the game will continue, instead of being a gameover... the task fails even in this situation.

There are always many way to win the task, just chose the strategy you like the most!!
Appearently looks like there's an hidden huge maze inside that place, the entrance and the exit are the same... it's possible to find something special inside that maze.


Time start: beginning of September 10;

Time end: the end of October 10;


When you record the task, the task's timer starts as soon as you load the save.

7 days left before time of task #3 runs out...

I have to add a note too: someone asked me about a potential exploit to the rules of the task, under certain conditions Banon doesn't fell, so if you are annihilated instead, against the boss, the game still proceeds as nothing happened and can continue.
It can be considered as third special failure scenario, despite i thought it was clear, but it's always better to specify it.

Unless i won't mention the opposite, among the rules of the next tasks, a similar scenario will always lead to a failure...

Since i dind't have much time to do that, i just did a slowpoke run, which puts together a bunch of tactics to grow up and stand against Gogo:

One special note: Jackimus did the task without even going in the secret shop, and fought Gogo almost naked... using Terra fire 2 spell and so taking powerful magic counters from the boss in the first part of the battle.
Even if that was mainly a matter of luck, i have to admit that it was quite impressive...

Task #4 : When an ambush fails...

Place: South Figaro's scenario(Mog black screen)

Area of the task: South Figaro area + cave to South Figaro;

Enemies: KillerArmr? and/or ???;

Task goal: End the scenario.

Rom version: 1.0(headered)
What's hacked: you, the enemies, dialogues, a bit of changes on sub map, a little work on music too, customized colors of some sprite, event editing, battle event editing

The failed masterpiece of Cid, that was what it was supposed to be, at least... if the Guardian is the perfect defender, then the KillerArmr it should be the perfect killer:
- Digs tunnels in order to find Figaro's castle;
- After you assign him a target, then that machine will chase the target forever and kill/capture him;
- Really resistant and equipped with a neutralizer system that hinders the help from other living beings.

(Un)fortunately a bug made choose the wrong target to the KillerArmr and now the target is running away, chased from the machine.
You and the target are destined to meet each other inside the caves that connects Narshe and South Figaro... what will you do? will you help him, or make the things easier to the KillerArmr? In any case this mess doesn't concern you: you only have to end the scenario, but you must remember that only the target has some chance of destroy the KillerArmr.

PS. the worst thing of a bug is that it's possible to exploit that program with an hack...

EDIT: one unexpected behavior in the boss fight has been detected!!!
Fixed it and changed the link with the corrected patch... sorry, if you already downloaded the task, then please download it again.

There's also a situation in which the story goes on even if defeated... as mentioned before, unless i'll specify that a situation like that it's still considered valid, it won't be so. it's hard to handle battle events with enemy characters...

I'm not sure if I success this tenkarider's task.....I give it a shot if I dare.....
