So, not only have I never been a fan of FF4 (something about the way people are dropping in and out of my party every 2 seconds without ever giving me a say in the matter sends me into a blind nerdrage), I also had the habit of playing with the sound muted in my young and foolish days. Consequently, the first time I ever heard this track was in Theatrhythm. And it was glorious. But still, not much nostalgia in this one for me.

That said, the only difference my untrained ear can pick out between these two is in the relative levels of the components; while Nattak has chosen to let the main melody dominate, Roy brought the drum line and the rolling arpeggios more to the front. This latter approach makes the track sound fuller and richer, something I've always valued in my music. Roy wins this one for me.
