Video Game Composing - Gilgameshversion - 10-03-2010 Hey there fellow hackers, Now before you go on please note that you may note me of a silly kind of guy but this is a serious thread, anyone can talk on it though. Now this might sound odd, but I am aiming to compose music for video games, AKA Video Game Composing (hence forth VGC) now I made this thread so I can recieve tips from people who know a thing or two about music, I do intend to play the Keyboard and will be starting probally in January next year. This also could be considered a FAQ. Q1. Do Composers have people working with them? for example would Nubuo Uematsu have a orchestra? or in my case I would be using rock instruments, so would I have a Band? Q2. Whats a good music editing program? RE: Video Game Composing - Fire Storm - 10-03-2010 Uematsu normally does NOT have a live orchestra. He mostly creates his own music using music programs. However, he does go to orchestra's every now and then. I do not believe they are HIS orchestra's, though. He used an orchestra to make the theme song for Super Smash Brothers Brawl, as an example. Uematsu does have his own band, though. The Black Mages, but that's common knowledge. The point I'm trying to make is... I'd say about 85% of the total music he makes is with music programs. RE: Video Game Composing - Gilgameshversion - 10-04-2010 Hey poeple another question, What is a good music editing program?
