Editing patched ROMS? - awsuman10 - 02-13-2019

Playing through Ted Woolsey's Uncensored Edition, a few of the dialogue changes didn't sit well with me, and text I wish was changed wasn't touched at all. I decided to edit the game's script myself.
I tried uploading the patched ROM onto several FFVI romhacking utillities, but none of them fit the expanded text boxes of TWUE.
I then tried uploading the patched ROM into a hex editor, but after creating a table editor, none of the town dialogue showed up. I seem to have no idea what I'm doing. Sad
What can I do?

1) Make sure your ROM is unheadered.
2) Make sure your ROM match the MD5 or SHA-1 checksum here.

If both conditions are satisfied, you should be able to edit dialogues with FF3usME.

Maybe try contacting Rodimus Primal (hack author) over at Romhacking.net, he is very active over there as opposed to here. Can't be sure exactly what all he's done with the ROM that would cause the utilities not to work, but I'd imagine he would!

Edit: Madsiur's suggestion is correct, patching it here on the correct ROM it is working fine with FF3usME's dialog editor.

The MD5, SHA-1 or CRC32 checksum is to check if you have the right ROM when you patch it. It's not the internal ROM 2 bytes checksum.

I'm not usually active here but I try to check on this forum on occasion. That and I wasn't able to login for a while. But I'm willing to talk about any lines either here or on RHDN.

If there's any lines that you have suggestions for changing, feel free to let me know and I'm willing to make updates to Woolsey Uncensored. Since Mato's recent translation analysis on official releases, it has me at a point where I've thought of looking further into the existing script for an update. I did the same with Namingway Edition as that needed an overhaul.
