RE: Final Fantasy VI SNES Woosley Uncensored Edition - B-Run - 06-07-2013

I always liked the Warring Triad.

RE: Final Fantasy VI SNES Woosley Uncensored Edition - Rodimus Primal - 06-07-2013

As do I. The dialogue around it will reflect it, but Warring Triad makes sense. I plowed through the script tonight and now I'm working on overlooking the battle dialogues. It's harder because I don't seem to have as much notes on the battle script as I do the dialogue. Once I finish that, I need to proofread it and then start work on the names of spells, items, etc.

So I'm going through the weapon names and decided the GBA names work really well. There are some item names I'm running into that the character limit is just....grrr!

If I were to mess around with Angelo26's patch, it would increase the ROM size and I'd have to learn where the new names are and how to edit them. Question I have is, would it work on actual hardware, bsnes, etc if I were to implement his patch? It would solve my class names thing.

To make a ROM (or hack) work on bsnes, you need to remove the header. I'm also unsure how bsnes deals with 32mb ROMs (expanded ROMs). But on snes9x and zsnes it will work fine.

On newer versions you don't. At least that's what byuu says about higan v092. I've still been using bsnes v073. When I messed with angelo's patch it crashes when you select magic in battle. If I were to use angelo's patch or parts of it, I would need to change some of his names for things and I'm concerned with compatibility, but I don't quite YET understand hex code. I think I might stick with shorthand names for the time being.

I finally got Cafe to Pub. Thank you Poco Loco and JCE3000GT!

I've renamed weapons to their GBA versions as I think they better represent what they are trying to say. Of course the character limit keeps them shortened where necessary. The same with Esper names. Terrato is now MdgrSormr for short and in the script it is Midgar Sormer. I originally stated I wanted to keep some spells and items the same, but I've been going back and forth with it. I changed Demi and Quartr to Gravty and Gravty2 and W Wind to Trnado. Ice 2 is still Ice 2 though. If I were to change and shorthand them, It would be Blizrd, Blizra, and Blizga.

What I do want to learn how to do is to readd the character class names to the menu.

I don't know about that bug but I'm pretty sure all the changes Angelo did fits in the original ROM, thus removing the necessity to expand the ROM.

Complaints about my hack should be privately addressed to me...LOL
I made the patch to be compatible with version 1.0, and I believe it has a bug...but it is unrelated to this bug you are experiencing. I forgot now if you need to apply the patch to a header or a headerless ROM.

Coming from the patch creator this is really unusual. C'mon man have some professionalism :P

RE: Final Fantasy VI SNES Woosley Uncensored Edition - Rodimus Primal - 06-20-2013

On the first post I've released my first release. It must be a FF3 1.0 Headered Rom.

(Edit - Disclaimer if you're reading this on a seperate message board, my first release of this is old at this point and folks should be using the current release on RHDN)!

RE: Final Fantasy VI SNES Woosley Uncensored Edition - Rodimus Primal - 06-27-2013

Currently I'm trying to alter the still censored sprite during the final battle with Kefka. I'm not sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated!
