Hello everyone, I am Break and really happy to be a part of these forums.
I am a fan of Final Fantasy 6 for the Super Nintendo
And a fan of the SaGa series.
Currently looking into hacking Final Fantasy Legend II for the Nintendo GameBoy.
Looking for what ever resources are available to get started.
Anyhow, nice to meet you all !!

Hey everybody.

So I finally decided to try hacking FF6, after a year and a half of brainstorming the hacks I'd like to make. I've downloaded various utilities, hex and ASM documentation, etc (no, I'm not masochistic enough to try programming in ASM right away -- I just want it to be a future option) I am having a probably minor problem with FF3usME, though, which I'll post about on the relevant discussion board. Right now I just want to tweak SOMETHING for proof of concept, even if it's silly. In terms of long-term ideas, though, my friend and I have an idea for a post-game sequel set 20 years after the end of the original game. Of course, I don't expect to get anywhere close to that in my first hacking projects, but hopefully I can use the vanilla game as a sandbox to test out some of my ideas.

In addition to FF, I'm also a big fan of Nihon Falcom, especially the Ys and Trails games (as you might be able to guess from my icon), Kingdom Hearts, and a bunch of older ARPGs like the Quintet games.

RE: Introduction Thread - Catone - 08-24-2019

Hello, RedMagicat. Welcome and all that other jazz that I can never remember to say.

Tip: dive in head first and demolish everything. Break the game a few dozen times, it's quicker to get all that destruction out of the way first then learn the way that doesn't break everything (there is no spoon... I mean there is no "correct" way to learn).

Always nice to see fresh ideas and new people to suffer hours of banging heads to tables trying new things, or even trying old things in new ways.

Good luck and enjoy.
