RE: Introduction Thread - Zeemis - 10-05-2011

I'm currently working on trying to assemble a team in real life for developing a Final Fantasy-style game in 3D. I'll be pulling 4 roles which is Game Design, 3D Modeling, Texturing, and Level Design. What my team does lack is a writers. I'm typically against relying on online contacts for anything this time consuming because if someone doesn't like the flow of things, they can just log off and never show up again. This is the way of the internet.
SunsetBolero, we could really use you as a plot writer for this game. There would be a great deal of writing as well, down to where the story to what an NPC says. I really don't want to rely on online contacts that much. If you accept, I'll tell you more on Skype. There is a lot of stuff I've already got planned out.

I've currently got 4 members other than myself whom are talented in 3d modeling, level design, concept art, and animations.

Hi, everyone. I'm Aegis, and I'm trying to make an FF6 "translation" using FF3 as a base that will work on BSNES without bugs. I'll have a project thread up sometime soon (and I need help).

Anyway, I'm 25, going on 26 years old. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You're free to ask questions as long as you don't attack.

I enjoy video games, reading, movies, and writing stories. :3

@Zeemis I understand your skepticism in maintaining a professional relationship, with a strictly internet based relationship, completely. I would be more than happy to assist you with your project, however you must know that this is not something i could do all on my own. In other words, I would definitely need a writing team and perhaps an editor. From what you say, it seems you've BEGUN building a programming team. Which is quite good. I'll need a good idea on what it is youre looking for. I don't have a skype account as of now, but I will certainly get one if you decide to take me on board. Before I make a decision or not, would it be all right if you PM me the general idea you wanted this game based around?
Oh and thank you Poco Loco. Smile

RE: Introduction Thread - SXV - 10-13-2011

Hello folks. My typical web name is Sigma X Virus, but I chose this name because I'm making a project that I plan to release anonymously. What I want to do? Yet another revision of FF6, because I can't stand the original SNES version, the GBA music is underwhelming, and I do not like the best known mainstream retranslation romhack (RPG1/Sky). My goal is to make an "accurate localization", not overly literal, but not overly comedic or inappropiate like the original translation, while keeping the sense of the Japanese version's lines.

I know NOTHING about coding or graphics, but my main focus is in rewriting the dialogue. I've been working with FF3usME and WindHex all the time in text editing, but things are never THAT simple (damn conflicting patches!), so I joined here to learn a thing or two.

Welcome! Glad to have you around!

Aegis Runestone is doing something similar, have you had the chance to look at his project thread? Maybe you can both get together and work on the hack.

RE: Introduction Thread - Maël - 10-16-2011

I suppose I ought to intruduce myself — I found this place through Youtube, and thought it looked intriguing, so I registered.

You can call me Maël, or, though if you can't pronounce that, I understand. I am, among other things, a writer and aspiring literary translator, and having a second go at being a university student. I'm a prolific reader and gamer, and look rather like a pirate.

I've also a custom keyboard layout which contains many more special characters than I need, and even then I've forgotten a few things I want now and again.
