Doing a quick check, Trappers should have a Debilitator for their common steal and a Chainsaw for their rare steal. They have no drops. You shouldn't get an Air Anchor from them.

Regarding Twilight's level, even if you have Snips and Snails run away at the end of the two non-pincer fights, she should only hit level 4. I've never seen a speed runner kill them off (since it would take extra time for very little benefit), so that extra boost might push her up to level 5, but that would be less useful tha having them alive. If you want an extra level, just spend a little extra time fighting on the way to Canterlot instead, but even that should be unnecessary.

I did some tests, and I cant find why I got an AirAnchor and a Chainsaw from Trappers... At this point I think I have a mispatched something or I hit a rare bug Sad

And for the mamoth, I kill S&S because now you have less HPs per level so every lvl... and that the problem too.
Mamoth in vanilla attack (Blizzard) around 62 HP and left Terra with 22 HP and the frame time to attack the (other) mamoth.
In FilFan6 Mamoth attack (Blizzard) damage a little above the HP that Twily have at that point killing she... and for some reasons always attack befter Twily but that last could just be RNG.

Call me crazy, but I think a workable solution would be to not kill off your own party members.

Question - is the limit to how many sprites for field characters there are hard? Like, IIRC, there's 168 now? Is there any way to add more? There's numerous NPCs I'd like to have unique field sprites.

I don't see why you shouldn't be able to... just relocate the pointer list and start adding entries. Then make sure you update the location of the pointer list in the code. I believe everything you need should be in the C0 bank.

At long last my desktop is back and I can work again! I have a long list of things to do, some of which I'll need help with, but I'm crossing off the ones I don't first.

That said, would someone please be kind enough to link me the Event Dump and Event Editing docs and the Hex-editing program I was using before, don't recall the name? Laugh

With the event hacking, it was some Word doc that had shorthand for how to do events. Like, "56 - begin music piece" etc

As for the hex editor, it was the one that looks like this?
