RE: Pony Fantasy VI Remake - Gi Nattak - 05-15-2016

yeah, that's not an emulator thing. No idea though off hand, you didn't edit anything there event-wise? And the rest of the game plays fine with the ending and all that?

RE: Pony Fantasy VI Remake - madsiur - 05-15-2016

Just do a hex comparing between the original event and what is in your ROM, it will take 2 minutes and you'll know where is the issue if any.

Take a huge event part before and a bit after and make 2 identical files. Run them in this: https://www.cjmweb.net/vbindiff/

RE: Pony Fantasy VI Remake - DrakeyC - 05-15-2016

Well, I did add some Gogo and Umaro to the part where the party calls out their reasons for fighting, but no, nothing else. The rest of the ending into credits is fine.

I checked a back-up from way back in March from the last Beta release, and it's happening there. And I definitely didn't touch anything with the event back then.

EDIT - Compared to vanilla, nothing in the entire event is changed.

RE: Pony Fantasy VI Remake - Gi Nattak - 05-15-2016

Look at CA/0B10, you have a new event pasted there right over all that tile replacement code. It is definitely changed from vanilla in that regard, and is the cause of this issue.

OOOOOOOOOOH. *headdesk repeatedly* That's what tells it the layers to change. That's my new Locke flashback, I thought all those 00s were empty space.

Derp derp... thank you, Gi.

Okay, trying to make an IPS patch for my Rom to release. Here's my exact process, using SNEStuff for all of it.

- Expand vanilla rom to 32 MB
- Create IPS patch; select expanded vanilla rom first, then hack rom (made sure both have headers)

Tried to apply the resulting patch to the expanded rom to test the patch, and it says the patch is invalid.

RE: Pony Fantasy VI Remake - Gi Nattak - 05-15-2016

You don't need to expand the clean ROM to 32 MB, that's the problem. You do however need to make sure they both have headers or no header though so you're good there. But yeah just select that clean ROM first, then your hack, and it will spit out the ips that can be patched to a non-expanded clean ROM. In other words the patch created from your hack will expand that clean ROM for you via the patches data.

RE: Pony Fantasy VI Remake - Kugawattan - 05-15-2016

I'm not exactly sure why you aren't using Lunar IPS...

RE: Pony Fantasy VI Remake - Gi Nattak - 05-15-2016

I've actually only ever used Lunar IPS for creating patches, so I'd recommend trying it I suppose. It's just as easy.

RE: Pony Fantasy VI Remake - DrakeyC - 05-15-2016

Well, dunno why but making it with Lunar worked, patched vanilla looks A-OK. Smile

New beta posted as IPS patch in first post.
