Yeah, that makes it not reasonable to race... Finger

A second personal setting might be as final stage a speedcave race with added some extra code among flags

Alright, version 60.1 is up. I'll post the update here since it may concern the race.
  • Fixed the bug where new blitzes wouldn't be learned (SwdTech learning notification no longer appears, but who cares about that)
  • The general value of treasure in the ancient/speed cave modes has been taken up a notch.
  • In the cave modes, a new NPC has been added to rest stops. Talk to him to initiate a farmable time-attack battle. You won't game over if you lose this battle, but you still need to heal between fights.
  • Fixed the issue where lots of characters would start out wearing Imp equipment.
  • Added a final save point before the final boss in the cave modes.
  • Certain bosses (including the Triad) now give 100 AP.
  • Some minor cosmetic changes.

I'd heard from lots of people that they didn't think there was enough treasure in the cave. In theory these changes should make the endgame for the speedcave more manageable.

I don't know what to say about this npc(i feel like there might be an abuse of it...)
Can you tell something more about him, like... what you farm, how much you farm and how much fast you farm?

There are few chests? Funny, i'd never thought it, actually i've never seen it with my own eyes, so i can't judge it...

An advice: while i know why you can't change party in the cave, i think it might be a good idea if the recruited allies might be added immediately to the current party, if there are less than 4 members in that group(that also adds the risk factor of starting the cave with less members)

It varies a lot. The battles will always have a chance to drop something of value, and they increase in difficulty the deeper you go, but other than that there isn't any restriction. I'm not really worried about it being exploitable. The battles can be pretty tough, so if the player figures out an exploit, being able to farm the battle is their reward. Plus, farming takes some time.

That is originally what I wanted to do, but I think I ran into complications. I haven't looked into it since creating the speedcave though, it might be worth another look. It's also kind of a pain in the neck because it might also mean that I have to keep track of which party ends up in which rest stops and write custom events for each. If there is a command for "assign to active party" and not "assign to party 1/2/3", then that would simplify things.

Sounds good.

Well, now there shouldn't be any problem in making last this race 4 hours and searching for all shops... it's time to define the data and hour.

When will that happen... Saturday/Sunday? Afternoon/Night?

RE: Racing on twitch with Beyond Chaos - MrEntity - 10-09-2015

Could you not add an event of some kind that just let you switch party makeup completely instead of banking on a 3 person party finding the guy?

Also, good job on the changes, man. Although I have never had that much of an issue with the treasures in speedcave, upgrading them can only help the 'run' aspect. Especially for the bosses.

I generally work from 4-11 on Fri, sat, sun. If I have to take one of them off to do this, Sunday would be best. I would be infinitely preferable though, if we could do it during the week some afternoon/evening.

My schedule is less strict now than it was a couple of weeks ago. I can race earlier in the day on weekdays if that's what works best for everyone else.

Oh, and I tried to do the party swap event too. It's super glitchy, your characters end up swapping maps in weird ways.

"Fixed the issue where lots of characters would start out wearing Imp equipment"

What does that mean specifically? Because that gear is really useful for selling in speedcave mode.

RE: Racing on twitch with Beyond Chaos - abyssonym - 10-09-2015

It was a bug in how items were being ranked, like that time a character started with a full set of Imp gear. It didn't just apply to the cave modes, it was a problem in the main game too. The better items should make up for it in any case, since you're more likely to pick up things like elemental shields now, you won't need to spend as much money in shops.

I'm liking these new changes, especially the final save point! I think this is a great step towards balancing a lot of things.
