I might play along just for fun when you guys agree on a time to do speedcave, schedule permitting.

Shall we shoot for this weekend, then?

RE: Racing on twitch with Beyond Chaos - Lockirby2 - 09-30-2015

Weekend is unarguably best for me. Otherwise, I have to start at 7:00 at the latest, if we're doing four hours, and that means Andrew starts at 8:00, which IIRC isn't late enough.

RE: Racing on twitch with Beyond Chaos - Cecil188 - 10-01-2015

It would be preferable if we could do this Saturday. I'm going home for the weekend, so I won't get back and be ready for the race until 8-8:30(which isn't bad, so if that's cool, I'm game). On Sunday, I'm going back to university, so I won't be back until 8:00-ish, which would be too late on a Sunday night, I think. On Friday, I might be able to get home earlier if required, but I'd have to be notified soon, if that's a better plan.

...Which means that saturday is the best candidate for final stage, huh?
8-8:30 AM or PM?

RE: Racing on twitch with Beyond Chaos - Cecil188 - 10-01-2015

I feel like everyone else is gunning for PM, and that's what I'd prefer, but I could honestly do both if AM ended up being better somehow.

RE: Racing on twitch with Beyond Chaos - abyssonym - 10-01-2015

Hey guys, for this race, I'd like everyone to use a newly updated version (59). After watching someone else play, I discovered a rare bug that can potentially make it impossible to progress in the speedcave. That chances of that occurring are pretty unlikely, but version 59 fixes it.

Version 59 also includes:
  • A change to the decompression/recompression module that should fix the green flashing in the opening credits on some randomizations.
  • The Meteor spell will appear less frequently in enemy AI.

RE: Racing on twitch with Beyond Chaos - Tenkarider - 10-01-2015

Cool, which bug it was?

8:30 PM? even better, for me it should mean 4:30 AM(sunday), right? (It's sunday, so it doesn't matter)

RE: Racing on twitch with Beyond Chaos - Cecil188 - 10-01-2015

Meteor appears less now? That's OK, but generally the regular enemies don't have enough Magic Power/level to unfairly kill you. It's generally the unrandomized stuff that's the worst, unfortunately.

It's a band-aid, not a real solution

Tenka, it was just some glitched tiles from copying one map's data over another. I've changed the algorithm to prefer using the same map when it can, and hopefully that will be the last I see of that bug because it's been a real pain in the neck.
