RE: Gil Turtle/Tortoise - Blue Mage Gab - 02-26-2015

Oh, thanks for telling me, but I'm not going to make anny more modifications of the Gil Turtle in the near future.
Thanks again, Tenkarider.

RE: Gil Turtle/Tortoise - Tenkarider - 02-26-2015

For future bosses, remember to provide srm file instead of savestate... even because i use snes9x, so using znes and reching the zone and everything was a pain Finger

RE: Gil Turtle/Tortoise - Blue Mage Gab - 02-27-2015

I got it, thanks. Anyhow, excuse me, I'm still new at this.

RE: Gil Turtle/Tortoise - Tenkarider - 02-27-2015

It's ok Wink

RE: Gil Turtle/Tortoise - Catone - 03-01-2015

I don't know, he's no pushover.

But, by that time in the game, as long as your ready he doesn't exactly make you hit pause to change your shorts. Heh, how about a random boss in the Figaro cave? If I remember correctly that might be a death sentance though.

He's not a pushover by any means, it just felt like you had to much time to recover between attacks. He IS a turtle so, okay he shouldn't be to quick. It just you had time to heal, cast life, then charge to 8 on swrdtech without someone getting dead or weak. If that window was smaller, the scary factor would go up alot.

That all being said, you have to keep in mind I'm no masochist, I could see myself having this boss in my personal playthrough. And I don't know what your actual goal was when making him. Were you trying for BOSS or more of an accurate version of the original?

Either way, its still a nice job.

RE: Gil Turtle/Tortoise - Tenkarider - 03-01-2015

I believe the actual scope of this turtle is being a mid boss(1/16 chance in a dungeon)
Someone interested in putting this one in his hack can decide where and when to put him in the game...

Btw this happens when you put slow on a turtle... maybe it was the case to make it immune to slow... it makes no sense to have a zombie being vulnerable to zombie status Laugh

RE: Gil Turtle/Tortoise - Blue Mage Gab - 03-01-2015

Thanks for the reviews, everyone! It means a lot to me.

Initially, I was trying to recreate the fight from FFV. After I put the stats and attacks on the table and tested it, I felt like I could make it more of a challenge, but I couldn't add too much new attacks because of a free space in terms of memory problem I told you in one of my previous posts.
And the long time break is not present in the battle without casting Slow on the Gil Turtle, like I did. Sometimes, the battle can go hayware, depending on your party memebers.
Now, you may want to understand that I didn't really want to make him too much of a challenge, I just wanted to make an accurate version of the original.

I considered the Gil Turtle, in first place, an enemy as any other, and I said " Why not make him susceptible to Slow?" Even if it is naturally a "slowpoke", it doesn't mean that it can't be slower than that Wink

RE: Gil Turtle/Tortoise - Catone - 03-01-2015

Ah that's right, I remember that now. The casting slow and the space issues.

And there's nothing wrong with hitting it with slow. Thats actually something I hate in most rpg, anything big enough to need status effects is immune and anything thats not immune dies to quick to matter.

Still like I said nice job. I'd still have to wonder how a fight earlier in the WoR would go.

RE: Gil Turtle/Tortoise - Tenkarider - 03-01-2015

It would go bad, unless you equip Gaia Gear.
