POLL: Most "definitive" way to play Final Fantasy VI - CloudAK - 10-03-2014

Coming up on the 20th Anniversary(US), I wanted to make a poll on here and see what people thought was the definitive way to play the original FFVI, as it was more or less intended. After all, a main reason we get into hacking and patches in the first place is to try to play a "remastered", updated version; without all the developing constraints, developing immaturity, etc. it may have saw at the time in the game industry. Its important to note that after decades and several official updated releases later - there is still no real definitive answer to this question.

These are the best options i came to after alot of searching around, without having played any of them much - if at all. I am planning to replay the game again with one of these choices (or similar). I thought about Brave New World and other similar versions, but these strike me more as a good "2nd playthrough" type thing, rather than a "revisit" or first time introduction to the game. This is more a "remaster" of the original list.

Until someone won't be able to transfer all GBA features inside the Snes version, my answer will always be that one... with or without the color/sound patch.

I'm actually leaning towards the Uncensored Ted Woolsey Edition to play it again (haven't played the game in years), but did u mean WILL be able to transfer all GBA features..?

all of the extra dungeons and content in the GBA version (and the same localization/translation) are also all in the iOS/Android version as well... Smile Laugh 0:-)

RE: POLL: Most "definitive" way to play Final Fantasy VI - Tenkarider - 10-03-2014

well i don't care too much about the IOS version, especially if you cannot feel the same atmosphere of the previous version Hold on

Tranfer everything? i'd really hope that but it's quite improbable, besides the size of GBA version is at least 4 times bigger than the snes version... i'm not sure, but the bestiary should take a lot of space, am i wrong?

Perhaps there may be the way to transfer new items, monster, dungeon, espers... but that heavily depends on the possibility to figure out how a certain japanese hack managed to increase the size/slots available for all that stuff.

Well, it was GBA version my vote, obviously... In the poll, at the moment, there are only 3 votes for GBA and nothing else: it wasn't so much difficult to figure out my vote Laugh
