Yeah, it seems whoever makes the big miscalculation comes in last. Unfortunately, it often seems to be me.

RE: Mini-Contest Idea - Tenkarider - 11-28-2014

The part i like most of the task is the part in which i analyze it, in all its aspect and find out weakspots, shortcut, unexpected solutions, etc...
Too bad that i don't pay the same attention to the submissions i do...Finger

Okay folks, the deadline's come and gone, but because I forgot to give a 1 week warning, if you pm me a submission by friday, when I'll have the results video up, it'll count.

RE: Mini-Contest Idea - Tenkarider - 12-29-2014

So the results will be after friday, right?

SORRY for how long this took. I was having tons of problems with my Macbook, but anyway it's done. The editing and sound quality and commentary is not as good as it could have been, but being nearly a week late already, it'll have to do.

Awww... I thought my Merton on Tumbleweed idea was perfect! Laugh
Even because that is the only formation in the whole game that allowed to save all that time getting Ultima in one battle.

Anyway i loved this race(even the song became suddenly louder right in the crucial point!)... everything happened in those 10-20 seconds and the tension reached the max level.... great job! Wink

Alright then, we're back!

Month 6: Suicide is Sometimes the Answer

Let's put the link at the top, as I just know that I'll forget to add it later... I do that with links a lot...

Sabin Hold on was overjoyed after the Millennial Fair that you threw him in Month 2! He had so much fun that it was practically oozing out of his ears, drowning out the world in joyous revelry. There was much song and dance to be had. It seemed like the good times would never end...

But at the height of the party, tragedy struck! What could have been worse than Sabin Hold on accidentally dropping his stuffed elephant, Flopsie, off of the Blackjack? As Sabin Hold on watched his poor elephantine friend from his childhood tumble into the murky depths of the Serpent Trench, the party could only be certain of one thing: Life on the Blackjack would never be the same again.

Everybody in the group tried to console Sabin Hold on in their own way. Setzer Objection! tried introducing Sabin Hold on to gambling, but soon Sabin Hold on was nearly out of his Gil stash from going All In whenever it came time to bet (only 2905 Gil left, down from the millions I gave him with the save editor). Relm Surprised tried to convince him to take up painting, but Sabin Hold on could only produce images in the style of SBAHJ, so all the paintings had to be burned away by Ifrit. The party, growing desperate, even brought in Kefka ;[ to try and turn him around, but Kefka ;[ was so shocked by Sabin's Hold on utter disregard for life and happiness that he ran away and lived the rest of his life as a repentant hermit.

Unfortunately, all this exposure to Flopsieless Sabin Hold on was contagious, and began to spread to the rest of the party. Everybody is now on the verge of taking a leap of faith. And it's your job to help them!

The rules:
-Kill yourself.
-Still no Joker Doom or Vanish-spells, albeit for the opposite reason of the norm.
-You may not remove any of the characters' Shields, Hats, Armor, or Relics. You may equip weapons though, if you so desire.
-You may never have less than four people in your party for any reason.
-I thought long and hard about this one: You may not encounter an Intangir.
-The nickname rule from Nuzlockes applies for some reason (to make you feel bad, I guess?), so you must use one of the Rename Cards on each of the four characters that you plan to kill, and name them something other than the default.

I must say, I'm a little worried about this one. I just have to bet that there is that one strategy that slipped through my fingers that everybody else and their mom thought about. Hopefully it will go alright, and won't end up being egregiously short...

PS: I am in no way actually advocating for suicide. You know what they say, humour is edgy... please don't take this the wrong way.

I thought you would have a race to whom drops Celes off the cliff first... *bad joke*

RE: Mini-Contest Idea - Cecil188 - 01-13-2015

So, you only have to kill 4 characters? And they can be whichever you choose? You don't have to include Sabin?

RE: Mini-Contest Idea - Lockirby2 - 01-13-2015

You can choose any four characters to kill, and you only have to kill four.

My challenges should only rarely force Sabin upon you. I don't really want the little "plotlines" to heavily influence the challenges in a lot of cases, and I don't want to force you to use Sabin every single challenge. If Sabin must be in the party for something, there will be a rule saying "Sabin must be in the party" explicitly.

Also, one person thought of going to the Floating Continent and recruiting Shadow. It is not allowed, since you need to have three people in your party through the IAF sequence when getting there.
