So I'm about done with this hack... Started off slow, but really picked up in the WoR. Kaiser dragon murdered my crew a few times, but I figured out that I could consistently damage him hard enough that he would endlessly cycle through barrier change and mighty guard.
My only complaint so far is pretty minor... If one has access to Excalibur II... what's the point of the paladin sword you pick up in the fanatics tower? I think the stats vary slightly... but i can't double check as I traded the paladin sword in for something not as good.
Also... has anyone here figured out what the Ultima ring does?

Teaches Ultima, at 1% or 2% if I am not mistaken.

This is purely metroidquest's hack, nothing to do with the staff here. He doesn't ever visit this site all but I think twice.
You might want to send him a message over youtube to ask him personally, or watch an LP for some assistance, or perhaps someone here besides that staff may be able to chip in if they remember this boss.

Have you tried using spells like Quick and/or Life 3 to prepare for this 9999 damage attack?
I wouldn't say it's 'broken' though, imbalanced would be a better word to use, and even then having a boss attack for 9999 isn't necessarily imbalanced, since there are a number of counter measures that can be taken.
