For this, you could have a bigger menu with Left hand under right hand or vice versa...

For this one, you could have a scroll down list of the 8 tools (one per line)...

I could maybe help you but I have never done any menu hack beside the easy hack of Gogo special menu transferred to Locke...We could take a look at it next week during my vacations but it does sounds like a lot of fun in C3...

I tried before but...at the time I couldn't find the data that specifies the exact position for the weapon and shield, so I could move them around. Another way of getting rid of this bug is to remove the ability to equip shields and weapons during a battle.

For this, the main issue is that the game considers the tools as items. What you see displayed in the tools command are 8 items that correspond to the tools. So, expanding the item names to 16 letters will result in this bug. The obvious solution would be to have the tools command access the names of the tools (13 letters) separately from the items (16 characters).
Easy solution, not so easy implementation XD

If it's not easy to implement them separately, what about cutting the item names down to 13 characters as well? Actually, I think we discussed this once...

Oh haha, maybe not. I just thought it sounded familiar after I had typed it lol

RE: Final Fantasy VI: Restored Ability Names - silvermaine - 02-27-2012

PJM, does your fix include Angelo's most recent fixes?

RE: Final Fantasy VI: Restored Ability Names - pjmcphee87 - 02-27-2012

Yes, as far as I know, unless Angelo made some changes I was unaware of. I believe mine was made after Aegis requested some menu items be in initial caps, like Item, Arrange, Use, etc.
