there is a program called SNESTL12
download it and make sure u have a clean untouched FF6 rom (back up several copies 2 be safe)
open the program, type "c" to create a patch,
you choose an untouched FF6 rom (I would name it clean to avoid confusion), then select the rom you wish to change (I suggest naming it something unique so that its easier to find)
and there u go u got yourself a patch

Is there a fix for 64-bit Windows 7? Compatibility mode doesn't seem to get it to launch. Or maybe I have a bad copy.

There's always the Lunar IPS utility that lets you create an .ips patch here:

Could you please also post the code that you implemented? Some of us are curious to see how you implemented the changes

Thanks! patch is up along with the code on the Hacks/ips subforum. Also, I was wrong about the paladin shield, it still works fine on actors above 0B.
