FF6 Hacking

The Final Fantasy VI SDK is a starter development kit for RPG Maker XP. The goal of this SDK is to provide all the default systems from Final Fantasy 6, including a complete database, audio/graphical resources and new RGSS scripts.

The Pre-Alpha version is out, meaning there are still bugs and features not implemented. If you want to try it though, you can download the SDK on the project SourceForge Page. You can report bugs and problems on the HB Games Forum thread.

Dargor, the author of the SDK, has been working since 8 years now on this project. Once completed, it will be a alternative to ROM hacking for the FF6 lovers. You can now participate in testing the product if you want.

Wow that is pretty cool I haven't used an RPG maker in forever... probably since SNES had one lol. But still that is really well made Kudos

Interesting idea for a project. I wonder if this will ever be 100% complete. If so I might play around with it.

I'll most likely do an extended project of my FF6 hack if this ever reaches beta testing. Dargor has been working since 2006 on it, I doubt he gives up now.

When I saw the "SDK" from the title, I thought it stood for SounDtracK lol.

I remember working with another Final Fantasy enthusiast ~15 years ago on coding a Final Fantasy III US engine from scratch. It was entitled FF3PC. His name was Kryten. We had Narshe somewhat navigable. I was data logging and data researching for him with the FF3us ROM. One day he just disappeared from ICQ and never answered his emails. I never found him again. I know somewhere I have an alpha of that program.
